Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 July 2026

This policy explains what Meal Prep System collects when you visit this site, why it is collected, who else receives it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

Who runs this site

Meal Prep System is an independent publication. It is not a company, a brand partnership or a storefront. Editorial responsibility sits with a single named editor, Chriss Rakoot — see the About page. You can reach us through the Contact page, which also lists our email address.

What we collect, and why

Information you give us deliberately

  • Comments. When you leave a comment we store the name, email address and any website you enter, the comment text, your IP address and your browser user-agent string. The IP address and user-agent are kept for spam detection. Your name and comment are public; your email address is not published.
  • Contact form. Messages sent through the contact form reach us by email and are stored in that mailbox. We use them to answer you, and for nothing else.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is held by our email provider for the sole purpose of sending the newsletter. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our host records the usual technical data — IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating system. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. Analytics data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify individual readers.
  • Advertising. This site is supported by advertising. See the section below.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them for three things: remembering your comment details so you do not retype them, measuring audience through analytics, and serving advertising. Full detail, including how to refuse or delete them, is on the Cookie Policy page.

Advertising and third parties

Meal Prep System is funded by display advertising, which is what keeps the content free and free of sponsored recommendations.

  • Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Opting out. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Consent in the EEA and UK. Readers in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent banner before any advertising or analytics cookie is set. Refusing has no effect on your access to the content. You can change your choice at any time through the link in the site footer.
  • Third-party vendors. Advertising partners set their own cookies and are governed by their own privacy policies, not by this one. We have no access to, and no control over, those cookies.

Some pages contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never determine what we recommend, and any page containing such links says so on the page itself.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles may include embedded content — videos, for example. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website: it can collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with it.

How long we keep things

  • Comments and their metadata: kept indefinitely so that follow-up replies stay readable in context.
  • Contact form messages: kept for as long as they are useful for answering you, then deleted.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe.
  • Server logs: rotated by our host on its own schedule, typically within a few weeks.
  • Analytics data: retained according to the Google Analytics retention setting in force on our property.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Exercising any of these rights is free and requires nothing more than a message through the contact page. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood; advertising partners may nonetheless process data in ways that some state laws define as sharing, which the consent controls above let you refuse. Comparable rights exist under other US state privacy laws and we apply the same process to all of them.

If you have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us, and you can request that we erase it. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where your data goes

Our hosting is located in France. Analytics and advertising providers are established in the United States and may process data there, under the transfer mechanisms those providers publish.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, administrative access is protected by two-factor authentication and login rate limiting, and backups are encrypted and stored off-site. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it and the change is noted here. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
